Description:

July 2, 2005 – Hectic Fun-fun day!!!!
*I won’t doin it in detail, but this day is SO ASTEEG!!!
Phew!!! I think I’m going to faint! After walking *miles I finally came back to our house…
Who would’ve thought we’d have an ‘unplanned adventure’ in the first place?
We were supposed to have our Research today, missing our ‘oh-so loved’ review for the coming UP-CAT with an opportunity cost that our project will have a minus 5. But what can we do? Even if we went to that darned review, and not get that darned negative 5, we don’t have anything to pass, so what were we supposed to do?
Going on, my group mates, namely Theresa Aviles, Kylie Capundan and Kimberly Altuna were already waiting for me at the McDo Playplace in Mindanao Avenue. I was late, you see, I came about 8: 30 – 8:45. While we waited for Valerie Corral, another member, Theresa and I bought hotcakes. *hotcake for P35???? AN OUTRAGE!!
When Valerie came, we ate… then discussed some things… then blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda… and we went out to flag down a jeep. We hopped in one going to Quiapo – Kalaw, and we said UST, and paid P 10.50 each. That reminds me, this would be the first time I’d be going away without my parents, I mean going to research without any chaperon… *This will be fun! – and fun it is!
In the jeep, we discussed a fair amount of chikas and kudos that if we were only not in a jeep we would’ve ROTFL, good thing that we weren’t in our uniforms! Ah, shame. We told ourselves that we wouldn’t be citing our dearest school’s name for its name’s shame. *Does it still have any of that? By the time we got to UST, we were eager to finish our ill-fated research. Okay, so our point of going to UST wasn’t really for research, it was to get that darned application form. It was kind of hot though, I was wiping off the sweat from my back that was falling like the waterfalls, and we got the application form nonetheless. And we passed by a church there, and we prayed… er… kind of. I wonder though, why wasn’t my prayer answered? You could guess what it was later on! ^.^
And we walked, again, for the sake of ‘saving’ our money for the better.
But when we got to the university belt, my so-called thrifty-ness failed me. The sight of Naruto and the Saiyuki boys left me P 50.00 short! Ah, the love for them!!! And Kim bought a Saiyuki picture too. Kylie wanted to buy a bag, but decided not to… I don’t remember if Theresa bought the earring from there too, but it seemed like it! We rode another jeep, now going to Divisoria (Isetan) for us to get to LRT.
IT WAS EXHAUSTING.
The funny thing was the LRT. Really!! It was like… ‘WHOA! Is THIS the LRT?!?!?!’ The place was cool, as in ‘nakakatuwa’ not ‘cold’, and they HAVE an escalator!!! I know this isn’t the only one that has the escalator, but the setting made it look like in the airport, cool, really. And THE VENDING MACHINE!!!!!!!! The best! We get to see the ticket vending machine!!! It was cool; it was like buying the soda drinks!!! Hehehe, I bet we looked ridiculous then, but what can we do? It was kind of embarrassing too!!! ^.^ Theresa was traumatized by the ‘poll’ thingy, wherein we insert the card and pass through, I can’t remember what the name of that dratted thing!!!! Gerger!!!
At first glance of the new ‘Megatren station’, Kim thought it was good. Just like in Japan, they also had the schedule thingy, the one that blinks with ‘The next train will be here in 1 minute and 30 seconds’, but of course, we’re still the Philippines, and to the degrading ‘satisfaction’ rate, the schedule thingy had the ‘The train will be here in 30 seconds.’ for 1 minute and 30 seconds, and only had the ‘The next train will be delayed’! So much for being compared to Japan. *Nako, ASA. The Megatren, as it is called, was cold maybe because there were only a few people there. We crowded in a corner where a window could show us the ‘teh holier than thou’ reality of squatters’ area.
Then we dropped off to… Santolan, I think. We passed by Gateway, where a CR costs P 10.00. But they, Kim and Tere said it was sulit because there were different things there that you just couldn’t see in a regular mall. But for me, Gateway is a place for those who are so filthy rich that they only thrown away money.
And… after that we rode… MRT. Ah, ^.^ nothing. I just remembered something.
We get to use the elevator. It was funny, we were going up and down *literally, we were supposed to go to 3rd floor, but when we got there, we were told that we should go the other way around, so we went back to the elevator and went to the 2nd floor. And finally we got it right. The funnier thing was the elevator we jumped in was the 13th elevator. ^.^
And we got to Ortigas, where we walked… miles and miles until we got to Robinson’s Galleria. It was exhausting!!!! We ate in the food court, and I was counting the money I spent and I still had… and WTF?! I already spent 150 bucks???? Oh dear… And Kylie… she spent 3 pesos more than I spent, and Kimberly, who probably the one who must be our ‘Sanzo’ because she was the one whose got the money, spent 200 +.
And then, we rode a jeep, that according to the respective security guard, was going to pass by De La Salle University. But unfortunately, we ended up in Pasig! ^.^
We, or rather I was getting really frustrated. ^.^ I doesn’t show, right? I was still frustrated nonetheless. Kim who was looking for drumsticks *the food? The chicken?* no, it’s drumsticks for the drums, found a rather neat shop at the other side of the road. She bought the sticks while I got myself a blue pick for fifteen pesos. It was a souvenir, really. After that we had our picture-picture with the help of the lady from the shop!
The next stop was asking a policeman, and he told us that buses would pass by De La Salle. So we jumped to the nearest bus, and paid 9 pesos each. And I took pictures of them, teehee!
After some minutes, we passed by De La Salle and we, or it maybe was just me … panicked and jumped off the bus.
After leaving the bus, we talked about who was supposed to go first, so Val/Darl and Tere went to the guard… and we followed them. Unluckily, they weren’t able to go inside because we didn’t have any permit. *DARN IT!!! DARN PERMIT!!!!*
So we walked back and crossed the overpass *with a break for picture taking again!*, and walked again, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked. Until we reached the MRT station!
PHEW!!!! I ran out of cash, so I had to borrow from Kim so that I could buy a ticket to North Avenue*?* and the MRT was kind of siksikan, but it was just OK. ^.^
I still had fun today, even though we had to walk to SM North Edsa, and even though I had to borrow P7 for the token to play Guitar Freaks, and even if I failed in the same game…
It was alright. At least I got my Saiyuki stickers. ^.^ And I wasn’t bored to death.
